Holy Baptism

The Episcopal Church offers the sacrament of holy baptism at St. Paul's Church. Holy Baptism, celebrated by a bishop,  priest or deacon, will bring the initiate into full communion with the Church, through water and the Holy Spirit. For adults, baptism is a public statement of their intentional decision to follow Jesus. For infants, it is a declaration of intent by the baptizing community to raise the child in the way of Jesus. All baptized Christians are a part of the household of God.

There are four times per year when baptism is especially celebrated: 1) at the Celebration of the Baptism of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ; this is celebrated on the first Sunday after the Epiphany, January 6. In 2020, this celebration will take place on January 12;   2) on Easter Sunday, which will be on April 12, in 2020; 3) at the celebration of Pentecost, the coming of the Advocate--the Holy Spirit--occurring on May 31, 2020, or  4) on All Saints' Day, November 1, 2020. Other baptism dates can be arranged.

If you are considering baptism for yourself or a family member, please contact the church office to set up a time to talk with Mother Kay about this most holy rite. The office is usually staffed Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8:30-4:00. We can be reached at (785) 632-3200 or at stpaulsepis@eaglecom.net.
